I want to say up front I am a novice photo editor, and I could really use some advice. I use a OS X El Capitan.
Photo editing is not my profession, I make jewelry, and I have a website which is were I use the editing tool. I take a photo of the pieces I make in a small white photo tent with a Leica C camera, generally trying to use as much natural light as possible especially for gold because if I use the lamps on the outside of the tent it causes to much glare. I usually edit the photo first, and then I go to pixlr to remove the background because for my website I like an all white background so the piece stands on its own. I have been using 2 apps for this, first I use fotor or simply the iphoto app to enhance the photograph, then I go to Pixlr to remove the background.
However I am finding lately that my images are turning out really fuzzy after all that hard work, and the clarity of the photo just isn’t there anymore (I have no idea why but something has changed with these apps in the finished product). Do you think I should bite the bullet and pay for Photoshop, or do you think one of these other apps would work for me?
This is an example below of the before and after. The second photo is acceptable but I had to go back a second time after pixlr and edit it again, which takes me hours. I really appreciate any suggestions!
